The Youth Ministry at Meridian Church of God seeks to impact youth with the power of the Gospel message! It is our desire that young people today know that God is living and active in their everyday lives - and that growing in Christ is a life long process and journey that they do not have to go alone!

What's New with Meridian Youth Ministry...

A note from pastor Kim...

Have you ever wanted to give up on something because it seemed too hard? Or do you stop doing something because it gets "boring?" It seems like almost every day when my almost 5 year old daughter and I get in the car , I can be sure to hear her crying as she tells me, "It's too hard!!!" By the amount of tears and words used, you would think I was asking her to foot power our SUV like the Flintstones in the old days!!! But all I'm asking is for her to,"buckle up!"  I have often wondered why something so small, but so important is "SOOO hard" for her to do. And I have come to a few conclusions. 1) She has to look at what she is doing... That's right, she actually has to focus on for a few seconds to insure that she will be safe in the long run! Most people today want to do what comes easily or naturally, with minimum effort... To be able to live without looking... But God is so good!He tells us in Hebrews 12:2  where to look to have the best life possible! "Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith..." If we would make the effort to remember to look at people and opportunities like Jesus, nothing would seem so hard we couldn't handle it. And that leads to my second conclusion. Which is--- My daughter - on any given day- can think something as simple as buckling up is beyond her reach! And we all  have been there and done that! It may not be because of a seatbelt, but if we're honest, it may be something just as small. For some of us, we may not think we are able because what we are being asked to do seems to be bigger than who we think we are. Or, it could even be that we think what we're being asked to do is so easy that it's boring, so why put out the effort? Either way, these reasons are the way alot of people look at being a follower of Jesus... And they don't ever experience the excitement of experiencing God's amazing truth in found Phillipians 4:13,"I can do all things through Christ who is my strength." Being a Christian is neither boring, or at times, easy! You just have to remember WHO to LOOK at, BELIEVE what He says, and FOLLOW through.

So if you have been thinking that being a Christian is "too hard" - remember that you..."can do all things through Christ!" And if you think being a Christian is "boring"- "fix your eyes on Jesus" who is one fo the most extreme people you would ever meet, and remember that He is "the author and perfecter" of YOUR faith! And if He is the writer, you can be sure that amazing days are here- and ahead!
